Forty flat stainless steel plates for joining two pieces of timber edge to edge or reinforcing a joint that has opened. The unglamorous fix that keeps a shelf, a bed frame or a cabinet carcass in service instead of being replaced. Forty plates is a workshop quantity rather than a single-repair one, and having them to hand is what makes a wobbly joint a ten-minute job instead of a weekend one.
Specifications
- Quantity: 40 plates
- Material: stainless steel
- Type: flat mending / joining plate
- Use: wood, shelving, furniture and cabinet repairs
- Fixing: pre-drilled countersunk holes
Care & Use
Pilot-drill before screwing into hardwood or the plate will split the timber it is meant to save. Countersunk holes want countersunk screws so the head sits flush and nothing catches. Stainless resists rust but is not structural steel — these reinforce a joint, they do not carry a structure.
